Aligning social innovation and social entrepreneurship initiatives and the co-investment and financing portfolio with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Social Innovation Fund is a trailblazing and enabling instrument for impact investment in Portugal.

As part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development proposed by the United Nations, more than 190 countries signed this sustainable development plan, which aims at mobilizing worldwide action to achieve common goals and targets.

Comprising 17 goals, broken down into 169 targets, this ambitious and transforming agenda requires worldwide action from governments, companies and society at large to implement several initiatives focused on people, prosperity, peace, partnership and the planet.

A global commitment to intervene locally in areas that affect the quality of life of all citizens and aimed at the integrated and balanced achievement of the three dimensions of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental.

Considering that the Sustainable Development Goals are a huge opportunity to create and implement innovative technologies and solutions that tackle the greatest global challenges, the Social Innovation Fund aligns, within the scope of its areas of intervention, social innovation and social entrepreneurship initiatives and its investment portfolio with these global goals to create sustainable and positive social benefits.
